#METOO

Netflix documentary director says ‘#MenToo is as important as #MeToo’ . An Indian filmmaker has joined calls for the creation of a “#MenToo” movement for men’s rights, saying it should be “as important as #MeToo”, the global uprising of women against sexual harassment.

In the past few days a hashtag has been trending all over social media.Mainly women but a few men as well, have been posting #MeToo. The point behind this is to highlight the problem of sexual harassment and abuse, how strange is it in our society. Since an international outcry at the 2012 gang rape of a woman on a bus in Delhi, India has made the laws strict protecting women from offences including rape and sexual harassment. There has been a corresponding development of men’s rights activism which is being conducted by conservative activists. As many as 45 individual men’s rights NGOs now operate in India under an organisation called Save Indian Family.

Men also has their rights and they don’t deserve to be blamed or put into situations where they don’t belong to be. Where women and people are busy fighting for their rights we forget that women fight for the rights to be equal to men and every citizen deserves to be treated equally, not above the men or being dominating in the society.
